hollywood holt

I used to like hip-hop. Through the later elementary grades and all through middle school I kept up with the scene. This was basically the time period:

a) The Neptunes were dominating air time on the radio
b) Before Pharrell became a pretentious mis-representation of skateboarding
c) Before "snap" music
d) Before 50 Cent
e) Before Soulja Boy
f) Choose Your Own Response.

After that, everything started to become monotonous and lyrics became ridiculous and hard to believe, let alone relate to. Lupe sparked my interests for a bit, but I never really got back into it. However, after a four year hiatus from hip-hop I discovered Hollywood Holt. Times have changed, and I think he understands that the topics should as well. Hollywood Holt basically makes fun of "hipsters" in all of his songs despite the fact he is one. He is somewhat hypocritical, but I like it since he doesn't take himself too seriously and rhymes about subjects relevant to my interests such as street wear, sb dunks, dragon ball z, and mopeds? It's a fresh 2k9 perspective on hip-hop.

Wait, does this music not have some dumb dance to go along with it?
Shocking!
